Shiny Chambray

I actually got the inspiration for this outfit from a magazine - Redbook, I think? I can't remember exactly where I saw it, but I saw the editor take a classic shirt (she used a blue button-down oxford) and did a bunch of different outfits around that one piece.  One of the outfits used a tank with sequins over the button down shirt, which I really liked.  So I decided to try it out with my own simple shiny tank, and I like the results.

You'd think with a shiny, sparkly, sequined tank, you would lay off additional shiny, sparkly accessories. You would be wrong :).  At least, I didn't.  I put this on and I was like, "what the heck, let's try sparkly elephant necklace and see how blinged-out-ridiculous he looks."  Too bad I liked the blinged-out-ridiculous elephant :).  And then did I sensibly pair some cognac brown sandals with this look? Nope, I decided to try my silver and gold gladiators.  Done and done.  To play off my black pants I decided to arm myself with my new black bead bracelets and black earrings (which you can't see against my hair - they fade into the background of my brunette-ness).  Aviators - my good ole' Target aviators - were the sunnies that completed the look.

On a different note, I must extend apologies for the lack of postings as of late.  I wore several really cute outfits last week, but not all of them made it up here.  Part of the reason is that I have family in town, so don't have any extra time in the evenings to take pictures.  So if they aren't snapped in the morning, I'm out of luck. Another part of the reason though is that I've decided to try to only post every couple of days for the time being.  I have a lot of stuff going on in life, and trying to blog and edit pictures every single day takes time away from really figuring out what I should be doing.  But no worries - this is something that I love doing too much to completely stop.  If anything, it's the surprise that this little experiment has gone anywhere that is making me stop to take time to think about what I'm doing!

Chambray Shirt, Pants - J.Crew
Sparkly Tank - American Eagle
Gladiators, Sunnies - Target
Sparkly Elephant Necklace - Forever21

This is such a cute idea to put this shiny top over your long sleeve chambray shirt. Great idea.

Don't worry about the slower posting. Sometimes you just need a little break from things to catch up on life.

Oh, and I love all the components of this outfit! Classy and cute!

I love the layering in this look! Layering just something I have not managed to master, but I am going to refer back to your blog to start trying!
